Congratulations to all members of Bermuda’s triathlon community who competed across the Bermuda Day Half-Marathon Derby and Sinclair Packwood Memorial Cycle Race.
Olympian and professional triathlete Tyler Smith and Maddie Durkin both captured one of Bermuda’s most prestigious road running titles at the Bermuda Half-Marathon Derby, with Smith winning the men’s division in 1:10:49 and Durkin the women’s in 1:27:56 (15th overall).
The performances highlighted the continued strength of Bermuda’s triathlon community across endurance sport.
Junior triathlete Jackson Langley produced one of the standout performances of the Bermuda Day holiday weekend, winning the Sinclair Packwood Memorial Cycle Race in 26:56.
Langley claimed victory ahead of six-time winner Dominique Mayho, while fellow triathlete Dylan Eiselt finished third overall, highlighting the strong presence of Bermuda triathletes in the event.
Congratulations to all BTA members and triathlon families who participated over the Bermuda Day weekend.
Congratulations to Bermuda Olympian Erica Hawley, who achieved the best World Triathlon Championship Series result of her career at the World Triathlon Championship Series Yokohama in Japan.
Erica finished 23rd in a time of 1:54:14 against one of the strongest fields in world triathlon.
Congratulations Erica on another milestone performance representing Bermuda on the world stage.
Emily Taylor-Nagel delivered an outstanding performance at Challenge Salou in Spain, finishing:
Emily crossed the line in 4:36:59 and continues to establish herself as one of Bermuda’s leading long-course athletes.
Congratulations Emily on a fantastic result.
Clifford Roberts represented Bermuda at Ironman 70.3 Victoria, continuing the strong presence of Bermudian athletes in international long-course racing.
At the Americas Triathlon Cup in Ixtapa, Mexico, Nick Pilgrim picked up a puncture on the bike and rode an estimated 10 km of the 20 km leg on a flat. He still came home 66th in 1:08:45.
His swim and run were strong — without the mechanical, Nick would have been fighting for a much higher place. Congratulations to him for seeing it through on a tough day.
A strong Bermuda team travelled to Richmond, Virginia, to compete in the East Coast Triathlon Festival against some of the strongest junior athletes in North America.
Placings below are within each race division unless noted. Draft-legal elite races are by age band; non-draft youth results are by age group within the youth triathlon.
One of the standout performances came from Dylan Eiselt, who finished 17th in the Junior Male (16–19) draft-legal race in a personal-best 57:40.50. Competing as one of only two 16-year-olds in the field, Dylan finished ahead of many older competitors in a highly competitive race.
The event provided valuable draft-legal racing experience as Bermuda’s junior athletes continue to develop and compete internationally.
Bermuda has secured one male qualification place for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.
This represents a significant achievement for Bermuda’s junior triathlon programme and reflects the continued progress being made by our young athletes, coaches and support teams.
Further information regarding athlete selection and nomination will be communicated once confirmed through the appropriate channels.
Planning continues for the CARIFTA Triathlon Championships, tentatively scheduled for 23–25 October 2026 in Bermuda.
The Local Organising Committee continues to meet regularly as preparations progress for welcoming the Caribbean’s top junior triathletes to Bermuda.
Further updates will be shared as planning milestones are reached.
